Our Captains’ Favorite Destinations: Captain Flokos

When you’ve sailed everywhere in the world, what destination still enchants you? We
recently caught up with Captain Dimitrios Flokos, who is from the seaside town of Volos, Greece, and also happens to come from a long line of seafarers – both his grandfather and father were captains. He developed a deep love for the sea at an early age, and has been
with Oceania Cruises for many years. In fact, Captain Flokos has sailed around the world several times as one of our captains on Insignia’s amazing Around the World voyages. With all of this world travel, his top choice for a destination might come as a surprise to some Americans.

Claudine Pépin’s Autumn Signature Sailing

Last month, Godmother Claudine Pépin proudly welcomed elegant Sirena to the Oceania Cruises fleet. The Christening and Inaugural Voyage marked the special occasion with celebratory events such as the godmother portrait unveiling, a cooking demonstration and a book signing. The excitement for Sirena continues – with Inaugural Season Exclusives through 2016, and our much-awaited Signature Sailing with Claudine this fall.

This week Regatta made her final stop in New York for 2013 before sailing south to warmer waters for the winter season, so I am taking this opportunity to share the remainder of my photos from my most recent trip to this fabulous city as Blogger-at-Large for Oceania Cruises.
